CONCLUSIONS

A combination of an X-ray CCD and a grating spectrometer in addition to being a very powerful spectroscopic tool allows to calibrate CCD linearity and energy resolution in a low energy band. CCD response is found to be linear to approximately 0.5% below 1.5 keV. The setup also reliably detects near edge absorption structure without using an expensive and hardly accessible syncrotron source.
