Abstract:
The JWST Deep Time Domain Field (DTDF) is a Guaranteed Time Observation (GTO) field with 46 JWST Cycle 1 GTO hours in JWST's continuous viewing zone. It will be the deepest possible counterpart to Chandra and the optimal community field for time domain studies with large cosmic lookback volume (z>6), enabled by the unprecedented capabilities of JWST. DTDF enables a powerful synergy with Chandra, the only X-ray instrument matching JWST resolution. We request 900 ks to double DTDF to 1.8 Ms depth (approaching CDF-N, but with guaranteed deep JWST data) and begin regular monitoring for DTDF transients and variables at or before the start of the JWST GTO program.

Remarks:
There is a window constraint only for the first visit of this target. Monitoring should begin between 2021 August 15 and 2021 November 15 regardless of JWST launch (to ensure the success of the field-building program in the event of launch slippage beyond current considerations). Subsequent visits should follow the monitoring schedule described in the 'observing time' section of this form. It is our understanding that a limited amount resource cost points may be drawn from Cycles 23 and 24 as appropriate for multi-cycle programs.
