Abstract:
Abell 2384 is a unique cluster merger system. The main cluster to the north, A2384N, has recently undergone a merger with a smaller sub-cluster currently located in the south, A2384S, behind which is a bright tail of cold gas, featuring on its eastern side the sharp density and temperature drops expected from magnetic draping. However its western side features an extremely rare scenario: the AGN in a radio galaxy has fired a jet into it. This AGN activity has disturbed the western side of the tail, blurring out any surface brightness edge. This system provides a rare opportunity to explore the interplay between an AGN jet and the magnetic draping layer around an infalling sub-cluster. Has the AGN jet broken the magnetic draping?
