Abstract:
We propose a 60 ks Chandra observation of J1511+0518 associated with a z = 0.084 Seyfert 1.8 galaxy and containing a young (~300 years) compact (~7 pc) radio jet. The goal is to resolve and study the extended X-ray emission on the kpc scale whose presence is suggested by an archival Chandra snapshot and XMM/NuSTAR spectral modeling. This study is important in order to learn about the properties of matter that the young jet is bound to encounter during its early expansion, jet/ISM interactions, AGN fueling, and implications for the AGN/host co-evolution.
