Abstract:
The canonical relaxed cluster Abell 2029 contains the most extended, continuous sloshing spiral that has been observed. This massive cluster with a strong cool core contains little evidence for significant AGN feedback, and heating related to sloshing may be significant in offsetting cooling. We will combine our observations with detailed simulations to place constraints on the merger history of the cluster, and mapping the spiral structure to large radii is important for breaking degeneracies in these models. Our observations will detect KH instabilities, if present, even on small scales, and will place constraints on the ICM magnetic field and viscosity. Our detailed observations and simulations will lend insight into the formation of WAT radio sources in sloshing environments.
