Abstract:
The X-ray emission from AGN in dwarf galaxies have only been studied from a few tens of sources. Dwarf galaxies are crucial for understanding the co-evolution of supermassive black holes (SMBHs) and their host galaxies. IC 750, a nearby (z=0.00234) dwarf galaxy (M* ~ 1.3 x 10^9 Msun) contains a Type 2 AGN with 22 GHz circumnuclear water maser emission. The maser emission traces a warped, ~0.2 parsec disk around an black hole with mass <~ 10^5 Msun. The X-ray emission shows one nuclear and two off-nuclear hard compact sources, a soft extended emission, and a soft, off-nuclear, compact source. We request 150 ks to determine whether the nucleus is Compton thick and its intrinsic luminosity and if the AGN is driving a kpc-scale outflow.
