Abstract: Type Ia SNe are of fundamental importance in astrophysics, yet the nature of their environments and progenitor systems is poorly understood. We propose a new epoch of imaging of Tycho?s SNR, with the goal of expanding the baseline for proper motions to as many as 21 years. The dynamics of the forward shock can be used to examine the possibility of localized rapid deceleration of the blast wave, as well as to lower uncertainties on the ejecta dynamics. |
