Abstract:
We propose joint Chandra 250 ks and 8 orbit HST WFC3/F160W imaging of SPT0348-62, the highest-redshift (z=5.7), densest, massive proto-cluster yet. The sources so far confirmed to be in the SPT0348-62 protocluster are both remarkable, in mass and source density, and yet are only the tip of the iceberg. We propose observations which will identify and characterize all bright AGN which may be present within this rapidly forming structure, their host galaxy stellar masses and specific star formation rates.
